I'm Chelsea. A photographer based in the Pacific Rim (Ucluelet and Tofino area) on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, in the unceded traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Nootka) and the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples.
I picked up my first camera in 2005 when I embarked on a trip to Uganda, Africa, a simple digital point-and-shoot. 10 years later when I returned to the continent, that time to Tanzania, I decided to invest in a second-hand DSLR Canon for the journey. From that moment on, my closet photography began. Snapping photos during my travels in the Hawai'ian islands, the waterfalls of Bali, the jungles of Borneo, the migration in the Ncorongoro crater, my surf and beach sabbatical in Mexico and now in my backyard in the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. Inbetween my travels I started taking photographs at family gatherings, of friends, and eventually transitioned into providing services. I've now started sharing some of my work, and up until recently, have operated on a word-of-mouth basis only.
I strive to capture the present moment in photos, the ones that have the power to take you back to those moments in time to feel and remember again and again.

I offer family, couples, wedding, and lifestyle + personal brand photography services. I love to explore wild things + places, and culture-based photography too. I believe this exploration enhances what I bring to each photo session; adaptability, opportunism, and embracing the landscapes we find ourselves in.
I work with clients to understand their vision, help find their ideal location, and apply an approach that will bring their minds eye to life.
If we work together, each session is tailored to bring out the "you" in your photos, so you have photos that are both beautiful and represent and feel like you. You bring all of yourself and I'll focus on composition, capturing your essence, and guiding you through posed, candid, and playful moments.
I am primarily serving Vancouver Island, coastal mainland BC in the Vancouver area, and I am open to travel. Let's connect to see if we make a good fit.

I am not a 1 trick pony - and that's what makes my photographic perspective and approach personable and adaptable.
I spent 15 years dedicated to the arts and culture sector. My arts background includes dance, events & production management, hospitality and wedding coordination, multi-million dollar arts centre operations and management, media, branding, and marketing. In 2018, I made a leap to the environmental sector. Currently, I am completing a MA Environment and Management, work in environmental consulting as a project manager, and have a sensational interest in water, land and sea connection, and conservation. I believe my interdisciplinary background and appreciation for nature play deeply into my photographic style.

Outside of photography, I dance in my living room as a retired dancer does, practice (and teach) yoga purely for the karmic joy, love spending time in nature, and adore being a dog mom to my four-legged little lady. I love a good taco, adventuring, and surfing too.
